Corded Dining Chair

Coincidence?

Jacques Guillon was a Royal Canadian Airforce Pilot before he studied architecture at McGill University in Montreal. He chose nylon cord to create the seat and back, a material first invented in 1939 for parachutes and towing glider planes.

Take a closer look

Guillon designed the Cord Dining Chair while he was still a student. Its simple design is made up of only three laminated wood pieces. The Boomerang shape of the legs and the curved corners give the chair a streamlined look.

Could your cat hold up a camel?

The Cord chair weighs only 3 kg (7 pounds), the average weight of a cat, but it can support up to 1,533 kg (3,380 pounds), the same weight as a camel! Manufacturers must perform load tests on chairs to ensure they won't break when you sit on them.
