Bringing nature indoors!
Thor Hansen looked back to the art of the 1920s for inspiration for
his fabric design. He looked at paintings by the
Group of Seven that represented Canadian landscape scenes and
transformed those familiar images from nature into a repetitive pattern.
Hansen designed this curtain fabric for the building interiors of
his long-time employer, the British American Oil Company in Toronto.
The fabric became one of a series of fabrics designed by Hansen based
on Canadian flora and fauna. |
