Flower Power
The Meadow fabric was inspired by tobacco leaves arranged in a bold
and seemingly unorganized pattern. The simple shapes and colours were
first achieved using
block printing.
Silk-screening allowed the repeated pattern on the fabric to be
printed in large quantities.
New Fabrics for New Spaces
In the 1960s, the building industry was booming. This meant that architects,
interior designers and furniture manufacturers were looking for new
fabrics to decorate large public buildings like airports, schools,
banks and offices. The manufacturers and designers, J&J Brook,
specialized in fabrics for interior design and offered a variety of
patterns in 26 different colours |
