Matching Table
This pedestal coffee table was designed to accompany Nugent's
#22 sprung-steel chair and was available in a variety of sizes
(round, square or oval), with tops made from either glass or
Arborite (in either black or antique white). The chromed steel
base was offered in various heights and featured three or four L
shaped legs to support the tabletop.
About Walter
Walter Nugent, a self-taught designer, founded his own company in
1959 with the help of a private investor. He set up shop in Oakville
and employed a core staff of sixteen. By the end of his career, Nugent
produced a wide range of seating and accompanying tables for hospitals
and government buildings, including the Winnipeg Airport, Lester B.
Pearson International Airport, York University, and Rideley College
in St. Catherines. |
