Lotus Chair
It's named after a flower but there is nothing delicate about the Lotus chair.

Formally known as Chair 2000, the Lotus chair with its unique metal sleigh base was originally created for the Montreal Olympics in 1976. Unfortunately, Artopex missed the production deadline so the chairs were not ready in time for the big event. Nevertheless, this did not stop manufacturers from mass- producing the chair by the tens of thousands. In fact, improved developments in injection-moulded polypropylene allowed the Lotus chair to be produced at a lower cost.

Inside or Outside

Besides off-white, the plastic lotus-like shell came in a variety of warm colours such as orange, brown and yellow. The Lotus chair has endured because it is stackable, durable and functional for both indoor and outdoor environments
