Compass Bowl

Jeff Goodman finds his way

You could say that the Compass bowl helped Jeff Goodman to find his way. By producing the bowls intensively for months at a time and then selling them in high-end stores in New York and Toronto, Goodman was able to generate enough revenue to open his own private glass studio in 1994.
Over 2000 of the depressed cast bowls have been made. Approximately 800 free form blown glass versions have also been created in a variety of colours, but they are more expensive because they require more work. Jeff Goodman blows each bowl himself.

Goodman collaborated with his wife, graphic designer Mercedes Rothwell, to create the four points of the "compass" which are sandblasted on the rim of the bowl.
