A cocoon or an office?
Clipper is a self-contained cocoon-like office designed for
healthy and comfortable computer use. The "cockpit" of
the capsule
can be a fully equipped workstation, complete with seating,
lighting, air supply and storage. Its side wings and tables
can be opened or closed to offer different stages of privacy.
Comfort all day long!
Designed specifically for computer specialists working long
shifts, Clipper's combination seat and footrest aligns the
body
in a comfortable position and places the keyboard almost in
a person's lap, a position considered ideal. Fewer than a
hundred
have been produced, but it has attracted considerable attention.
One of Ball's Clippers is in the Conran Foundation Collection
in London, England, and it was published in Conran on Design
(1996). |
