FlatPlug

Flatter and Safer

It took 75 years for someone to redesign the electrical plug. Robert Dickie created a plug thinner than a base board - it lies flat against the wall and so does the electrical wire. This means that furniture can be pushed right up against it. The FlatPlug is difficult for children to play with, but easy for adults to pull on the metal handle and avoid weakening the wire where it connects to the plug. Popular Science magazine declared the FlatPlug one of the 100 greatest science and technology achievements of 1991.

Protecting the FlatPlug

Robert Dickie is an inventor and entrepreneur. He believes in the importance of research and development. Like most new products, the FlatPlug was patented to protect his intellectual property.
